LITERARY ARTS, FESTIVAL
TranslateSingapore marks its third edition this September as we turn the month into “SG Translation Month”! Over four weekends, our festival will present over 15 programmes to celebrate our linguistic richness and all things intercultural.
Our forum this year focuses on “Comics and Translation”, as we gather comic artists, translators and publishers from Southeast Asia, UK and US to explore how comics and graphic novels are used to engage with cross-cultural representation and understanding.
Another highlight is the two “Tale of Two Languages” lectures, by respectively notable linguist and writer David Moser and Cultural Medallion writer Mohamed Latiff Mohamed, that will offer their insight into the Chinese and Malay languages.
The festival will also present a new literary translation online magazine Canopy; comic translation workshops; book launches, and more!
