World Lit Workshop: Writing Home with Githa Hariharan

What makes a city, or any place, home? Can you have more than one home, or only an imaginary one? Most of us negotiate daily life in places that are diverse by nature; we share home with people who are, in some way or the other, different from us. All these different people share a sense of belonging, though their stories vary considerably.

Acclaimed writer Githa Hariharan leads a workshop on how to write about home, to reconsider what different people, of different races, cultures and languages, actually mean when they say Singapore is their home.

Participants are encouraged to read her book, Almost Home: Cities and Other Places before attending the workshop.
