A trip down memory lane turns out to be a bittersweet journey for one family, as nostalgia recedes and the demons of the past come out to play. Director Lee Thean-jeen brings Dora Tan's layered and emotional short story to the stage in the third and final installment of this year's The Page on Stage.
Tan Kheng Hua (CREATIVE PRODUCER)
Kheng is an actor/producer. As an actor, she’s best known as Margaret in PCK Pte Ltd. She also produced The Dim Sum Dollies ® from 2004-2007. International roles include lead supporting in The Philanthropist (NBC), The Patriarch (UFA), Marco Polo (Netlfix) and the soon to be released Crazy Rich Asians (Warners Brothers). She was one of 20 artists curated for STB’s Singapore:Inside Out (2015) in Beijing, London, NYC and Singapore. Recent stage outings include Falling (Pangdemonium), for which she won Best Actress in Life! Theatre Awards (2017). She created and produced The Twenty-Something Theatre Festival (2016) selling out many shows and receiving a commendation letter from MP Grace Fu and Tropicana The Musical (2017).
Lee Thean-jeen (DIRECTOR/PLAYWRIGHT)
Thean-jeen is one of the most prolific writer-directors and showrunners working in the Singapore production industry today, having created, executive-produced, written and directed over 150 hours of film and television content in the span of his career. He adapted the works of Singapore writers into the award-winning television series, AlterAsians and The Singapore Short Story Project, as well as the telemovie Gone Case and the feature film Bring Back The Dead.
Seven Views Of Redhill is his first stage adaptation.
Lim Yu-Beng (ACTOR/CREATIVE PRODUCER)
Yu-Beng won Best Actor in 2005, Best Supporting Actor in 2004, and was in the Best Acting Ensemble in 2002, all for the Life! Theatre Awards. He has played leads and supporting roles locally and internationally in Singapore Dreaming, Solos, Kung Fu Killers, Anna and the King, Cinemax’s Warrior, Firasat, and Triple 9. In the last few years he has written three full-length plays, and is working on his fourth. He continues to explore new ground, and works extensively as an actor, director, writer, acting coach, lighting designer, fight choreographer and whatever it takes to get the show up.
Janice Koh (ACTOR)
A respected stage and screen actor, Janice won the Life! Theatre Award for Best Actress for Proof and received nominations for Loo Zihan’s With/Out, Wild Rice’s Optic Trilogy, Pangdemonium’s Rabbit Hole, and Ovidia Yu’s Hitting (On) Women. She was nominated Best Actress at the Asian Television Awards for the The Pupil. Recent theatre include Wild Rice’s Supervision, and Another Country, Pangdemonium’s Late Company, The Father, SRT’s Hand to God, Reunification by Theatreworks, Ong Keng Sen’s Sandaime Richard, and Finger Player’s Poop!. Janice has toured widely to festivals including the Edinburgh International Festival, Kunsten Festival des Art, and Shizuoka Performing Arts Festival. Film credits include Crazy Rich Asians, Unlucky Plaza, The Faith of Anna Waters and Agent 47. Janice previously served as a Nominated Member of Parliament. She is a Board member of Wild Rice, and co-founder of social enterprise, Pasar Glamour. She is represented by FLY Entertainment.

The Page on Stage is a three-part series which brings popular Singapore literature to stage. The 2019 season features three short stories from the Balik Kampung series by Math Paper Press, which are adapted and directed by three top award-winning television writers and directors, lending their magic from the tube to the theatre!
